    Question How to install nagios on linux and monitor windows Desktops and Servers

    Can any one please help me how to install nagios in Red Hat linux 5.4 and from there how to monitor the windows Desktop and Server machines

    Hi,

    For installation and configuration of nagios you can refer to the below url

    nagios.sourceforge.net/docs/2_0/installing.html

    As far as I know, Nagios montiors the servers by ping request, so try to configure the client macine with the IP on the server.

    so that your server can ping the client as

    ping 192.168.0.10

    You Need to use the NSClient++ to monitor windows machines. If you need help, you can get it from Nagios Enterprises!
