Wish I could take credit for this one, but I can't, Trickster pointed it out.
Slackupdate
Connects to a server, checks for updates, and downloads them. Pretty handy. Can also install the updates but has lots of warnings against it it seems.

why can't it just be like the good ol' days? I miss FidoNet.Kermit - Highly configurable, very robust protocol/terminal program. Works great for telnet, ftp, ppp, etc, etc...![]()

Nessus -- its dot org and and not dot com
GXine - awesome GTK frontend to xine, works the best of any movie/video player I've tried, simple, gui point and click goodness, and handles just about any type of media file you can imagine.
Pan - best newsreader program - was kind of pathetic a few years ago, but in the past several years successive improvements have put it on par with Agent - the preeminent Windows newsreader.
File Sharing - MLDonkey - I tried giFT and wasn't that impressed. Seems to only work on the OpenFT, Gnutella and FastTrack networks. MLDonkey works on all those, plus EDonkey, Overnet, Bit Torrent, Soul Seek, and Direct Connect as well. There is a lot more functionality built in to MLDonkey, and you can just click-and-d/l file links on EDonkey sites. Plus the webclient is awesome.
If this hasn't been mentioned...
Vorbis-Tools
And of course SGUIL, the best Snort Front-End!

XVnc
This is a must-have for any Windows admin. Is a VNC program that can be pushed to your domain computers, as long as you are a Domain Admin. Saves a lot of time and works quite well.
