I cant open the samba server through the GUI

Dear linuxers ,

May be some one can tell's me what is going on ..!!??

I can't open the samba server through the GUI..!!??!!

If I go to the start menu --> system settings --> server setting ---> samba server {click} ,I got prompted to type the root password ,I do so,then happend absolutley nothing.

May be some one can show me the way ..!!??!!

Thnx in advance for any tip or advice.

Hi

are you able to run samba from command line?
is this working --- service smb start ?

well u said u r following the path
-> system settings --> server setting ---> samba server
ok

but if u want to start samba then go to
-> system settings --> server setting ---> services

scroll down to find "smb" check that option and click the "start" button on same window the samba service will start for you.
