    AGLX vs XGL

    Mandriva 2007 supports 3d desktop with AGLX and XGL. What different between them both and which I should to choose?

    Novell is doing the supporting of XGL. Everyone else is doing AIGLX/Beryl. Pick whichever works best for you. In the future I would expect Beryl to be the choice most would choose with respect to a OpenGL desktop.

    I've didn't try beryl/aiglx yet, but compiz + glx run and look good under my Mandriva 2007. I like compiz much more even microsoft aero under windows vista.

    The only component I havent used much is XGL. I used a very early one that was not very stable. However since then, AIGLX + Compiz or Beryl + Compiz works great.
