update: Doom95 works.. Odd..
Hey all. I just compiled the latest wine sources, and set it up. I can install things fine (I installed Half-Life and Star Trek Voyager: Elite Forces, as well as Internet Call Manager), but when I go to run the installed files, I get this error.
Now, with the "file probably truncated" thing, I thought maybe I had set the filesystem as MS-DOS or something dumb. Nope. All of my drives are set to win95 fs.stuart@philangatron:~/windows$ wine winzip.exe
err:module:map_image Could not map section .text, file probably truncated
wine: could not load L"C:\\winzip.exe" as Win32 binary
err:module:map_image Could not map section .reloc, file probably truncated
wine: could not load L"C:\\Program Files\\Raven\\Star Trek Voyager Elite Force\\stvoy.exe" as Win32 binary
Does this mean that since my fake windows directory is on an ext3 partition that it won't work? .. odd."win95" for ext2fs, VFAT and FAT32
I was on #winehq, and it was suggested that it could be a kernel or glibc issue, but people with 2.6.0 and the same glibc as I have got the latest wine to work fine. Any ideas?

have you tried export LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.2.5 ? or something similar?
I just tried that. No luck. Same error![]()
Okay. Doom95 works, winzip does not.
Installers that work:
Half-Life
Counter-Strike
Star Trek: Elite Force
Internet Call Manager
Stuff that kind of almost works:
UPD.EXE (something in the HL folder, an update util?)
but it does start for a second, give me a windows error (Could not open hl_res.dll) and die.stuart@philangatron:~/windows/SIERRA/Half-Life$ wine UPD.EXE
err:module:map_image Could not map section .rsrc, file probably truncated
opforup.exe - it is supposed to install opposing forces, but gets part way through the install and dies.
