Troubles with Compaq Evo 1020v

I've installed SUSE9.0 on Compaq Evo 1020v....X was brought up with default 640x480, I cannot change it using SaX2 - cannot find matching monitor no matter what I try.
The oly relevant link I've found on the net was about some acpi patch (don't know what acpi is) http://members.lycos.co.uk/martinpetzsch/
According to google search RH9.0 works fine....
Anybody was able to run SUSE9.0 on evo 1020?

I don't have the same exact notebook that you have but it looks like that you need to patch your current kernel with ACPI patch or install new kernel with ACPI enabled.

I'll try to install RH9......less trouble then recompiling the kernel.
