    kppp error

When I attempt to connect to the internet using kppp, after the dial-up, there is an error message:

    "The pppd daemon died unexpecedly!"

    "Exit status 0."

What should permissions be in /usr/sbinpppd ?

    Any other suggestions?

    I use SuSE 9.0 on a Dell 2350.

    PPP log:

    (1738) Plugin password.so loaded

(1738) Must be root to run ppp, since it is not setuid-root.

No. I cannot get the root password GUI to appear.

what distro is this? If it's SuSE (and maybe a few others), i'd say launch a root xterm (i believe it's under utilities somewhere), then try and run kppp
