Okay... something that I noticed is that this only happens when I am logged in as a user. If I am logged in as root, this doesn't happen. Now I am really confused...
This is directly related to my post "What a Day" in the software section. I figured that I would put this in the hardware section, as that is kinda where it belongs...
With the mouse turning off at random, I was able to find this at Dell's website forums.

maybe your user does not have proper permissions, or your driver is not set so your user can access it properly. which is basically permissions, if you make a group and add your users to that then it might work...
