Go to /var/log/packages, and check to see if it is installed. Also make sure you run configure as a user, not as root

The configure script in enlightenment 0.16.5 stops giving the following.
This is in Slackware 9 which, i'm sure, installs Freetype2 by default. Anyone got any ideas as to what I should do - the last time i compiled and installed freetype2, thinking it wasn't there, It messed up X, and i'm loathe to do so again without good reason or explanation.ERROR: Enlightenment needs a system with libttf.so (TrueType Font Library)
You can obtain it from:
ftp://ftp.enlightenment.org/pub/enlightenment/
ftp://www.rasterman.com/pub/enlightenment/
You can also obtain it from:
http://www.freetype.org/
You can obtain some truetype fonts from:
