Long Time no hear but have a problem!

Hey all, I have been busy lately with school ( I started another college degree choice). Anyway, as many know I am dual booting Win XP and RH9 on my laptop.

My question is can I remove RH9 from my laptop and recover the partition without having to reinstall XP (LONG PROCESS).

    Thanks
    Rastar

The only way I can think of to accomplish this would be with partition magic ($70.00)

There should not be any problem erasing the Red Hat partition.

    1. From a dos boot disk, (boot to it) do an fdisk /mbr. This will reinstall the Windows boot loader.
    2. Boot into Windows. Right-click on My Computer, and select Manage. Go to Disk Management, select the Red Hat partition and erase it, then format it with a Windows compatible file system.

if you want to make your XP partition bigger rather than have 2 partitions you could either use the partition magic or use parted, which is free, but kinda hard to use. you'd need a bootdisk with it too so partition magic may be the way to go.
