Linux fan to run against Arnie in California election

    http://silicon.com/news/500022-500001/1/5891.html

This is idiotic. This girl is promoting the legalisation of drugs, gay marriages and open-source? I don't think this is what open-source needs ...

She's promoting the legalisation of marijuana, not drugs in general.

What exactly makes you think this is bad for Open Source? I don't get it.

How do you know that? A simple sentence such as that could start a flame war. Care should be taken when discussing politics or religion.

It was the article that said she promoted those things - linking to her web site you don't see that front and center, i think the silicon.com/news is trying to scare up readership.

I didn't intend it to be taken like that. Lovechild suggested me to vote for her since I am a Californian. That's how I know he would vote for her.

Yes it could - but if I could vote in that election I would vote for her. Of the candidates I've heard from so far she seems to be the only one with a helping of brain - and I agree with her views.

Even though she uses EMACS I think she would be a fine governor.

And no she does not promote herself as "the open source" candidate - please stop calling that. That would be the same as calling her the druggie candidate..

Read her statement pages - she makes good sense.
