Is there a reason to upgrade from 2.4.20 to 2.4.22? If not, I will wait until 2.6
New kernel, 2.4.22 is out... kernel.org is/was kinda slow, so I have a mirror of it at ftp://ftp.sfcc.edu/ACADEMIC/CAT/LINU...2.4.22.tar.bz2

There sure is reason to upgrade. The patch from 2.4.21 to 2.4.22 is HUGE. 5.2MB bzip'ed (That might well be the biggest patch in Linux history). So a lot changed. Most notably the bluetooth subsystem and a lot of usb related stuff esp. the ehci-hcd driver. And wasn't there a local exploit in 2.4.20 that only got fixed in 2.4.21? Or was that earlier?
The question is not why should you upgrade the question is why shouldn't you?
But please use a mirror for downloading the source. Earlier today I check www.kernel.org and bandwidth usage was well over 100MBit/s![]()
Looks like I am going to be using the schools bandwidth tomorrow...
i know i am gonna upgrade just to get the SI Image fix.
