I don't know if this is a mistake or not but when I went to www.netcraft.com and did a search for www.microsoft.com, this is what showed up:

The site www.microsoft.com is running Microsoft-IIS/6.0 on Linux.

Is it a joke or what? :

Seems to be more of a Urban Legend than anything else. It seems MS used a linux server as a redirect, inavertly producing a false identifier.
