Over these last few weeks, I have played around with many different text editors, have learned a huge amount and gained respect for both Emacs and Vim.
I think I have reached the conclusion that there is no One True Editor. They both good points and bad points. I like them both; however, I think that I will be giving up on my Emacs experimentations now. Its time to move on with other things, and Emacs is just waaaaay more editor than I have any need for.
So, what editor will I be using? I suspect that when I am running KDE I'll use Kate, which is a very nice editor, and any other time, it'll be vi(m) simply because it is everywhere and always works the same way.
Will this really be the last word on editors from cga? I'm stubborn enough that I may just make it so.
But gosh, its just so much fun to play with stuff! ;D
