    MythTV Problems-MySql

Ok guys I emerged MythTv(Gentoo) but when I try to run it I get this error:

    Unable to connect to database!
    Driver error was [1/-1]:
    QMYSQL3: Unable to connect
    Database error was:
    Unknown database 'mythconverg'
    couldn't open db
So I read up and I am suppose to do:

    mysql < /usr/share/mythtv/database/mc.sql
    But I get:

ERROR 1044 at line 1: Access denied for user: '@localhost' to database 'mythconverg'
    Thanks for you help

i dunno if you have gotten assistance with this yet elsewhere or not but by the error that is given it seems that you will have to give your user permissions to use that database. or you may have yet have to set up mysql to have a regular user. all of your questions with regards to mysql can be answered with this

(sorry i would have given you precise directions but my mysql is a little rusty at the moment. the guide should help though)

Usually that error occurs from a bad user or password. Try:

    mysql -u root -p < /usr/share/mythtv/database/mc.sql
