OK guys heres the situation, I have a mailserver running a bare stpd basically does nothing but sends mail. I want to change tosomthing a bit more secure. Must support SSL or TLS and preferable allows for authentication over smtp as well (encrypted login of course). ANy help would be appreciated.

Thanks forthat invaluable piece of wisdom, but I am afraid that is not really an option as I need a functional mail server as well as secure
I've found Postfix to be very reliable and relatively easy to configure.

I am with mcangeli on this one, I have only use qmail and I haven't had any real issues with it. Though I don't know if it supports everything you wanted, I haven't play with it that much. Sorry, I can't be of more help, then again it was probably more helpful than mcangeli's first comment ;-)
am i the only person alive that still likes sendmail :/
If it only sends mail, then why bother upping the security anyway? If it works, don't fix it!
