OK, since I started fooling with window managers again, I guess its time to start the Editor wars again too.
But since I know a lot of vim people will try and take control of this thread, I want a different twist:
What text editors are folks using, other than vim?
BTW- I do not even have vim on this box.I have nvi installed to be the system's vi, just to Right and avoid the wrath of the UNIX gods, but I use Joe for my editor.

Pico is very cool. I use it with Pine for email. The two make a great combination.

Simplicity is divine.
If you want to go through the hassle of WINE, Textpad (http://www.textpad.com i believe) is very nice....otherwise, Pico.

Is nobody using emacs anymore? I feel soooo old. Check out micro emacs (uemacs) if you want something lightweight.
And to all those who want to tell me that a text editor shouldn't use more than a couple of megabytes of RAM: Here's a nickel, go buy some more RAM and then you, too can enjoy the glorious emacs![]()
lol demian,
I use TextPad on my Windows Machine (my only one), and I like it.
And its shareware, it just displays a splash screen for 3 seconds on boot.
