never heard of them
I was just curious if anyone else played GamesWorkshop games like WarHammer 40K, SpaceHulk, etc. I wanted to see if anyone else would be interested in a play-by-email game sometime.

They are table-top minature type games. Here is a link for more information:

I am in the planning and modeling stage of making one of their games (Spacehulk) into a turn based video game. I am not shooting for the stars, it would be my first game, but I have alot of big ideas.
I remember I went into the Games workshop store once, expecting to find games, and this 30+ year old guy was wearing some weird looking helmet, and was trying to convince me to buy some of the stuff they sold. Looks interesting, but I think that there is more of a market in games via virtual means.

Yeah some of the guy into those games can get extremely weird. Like playing the game as if it were some sort of right of passage, or actually believing its real. Yeah, the guys I usually play with stay away from those people, we are just a group of regular d00d's that don't get together to play poker so we play WarHammer instead. Since the requency of our get-togethers has been lessening, we are going to try and build a video game out of it. It ought to be interesting to see if we can pull it off.
I actually play Mordheim from time to time. I have a Ostlander warband that brawls around drunk.
I've never played Mordheim before. I think I have heard of it but I don't know anything about it. What type of universe is the game set in? I usually play Warhammer or Spacehulk.
Morheim is a mid-ageish city that got him by a meteor. Small warbands are raiding the city ruins trying to find money or meteor shards. The scenarios are pretty much that 2-8 warbands start from different ends of the table and the last team on the table gets the money.
Good this is you don't need lots of figures to play like in Warhammer. I think I own about 15-20 figures and currently use about 13 of them.
One game takes from 2 hours to 5 hours depending on how many warbands are playing. So it's very time consuming and therefore we only play 3-5 days a year.
Very true about the sheer number of minatures you need to play Warhammer. I don't even want to count the total number of figures I have, its not a rediculous amount but its still alot.
Warhammer games aren't short either. Spacehulk games are definitely shorter at only about 1-2 hours a game, since the battle is limited to only 2 players. Then it just depends on the board size and amount of figures each side gets. Its fun tho, lots of fun. Since none of us really watch sports we usually get together during big sporting events, mainly cause there isn't anything else on TV ;-)
Isn't there warhammer games already? I think that they're fps, but wouldn't it be better to be rts? I think that it would be a much sweeter game that way!
