After trying GNOME2.x there are types of brain surgery I would rather have done to me before switching to anything else.

    Hmm...

[me=NGene]goes inventing a way to perform lobotomy over the internet...[/me]

    :P

Simple, you already drove me crazy NGene.. so a lobotomy over the internet should be even simpler.

cga - i am starting to think you are wm slut!

I agree. Is there any mainstream window manager that you haven't tried? Maybe you should do up a webpage that compares and contrasts your experiences with the various wm's. Just a thought.

    Cheers

    That's a rather good idea.

LOL! pbharris- I am running fvwm now. I was so taken by it the last time that I played with it that it took little time at all for me to gravitate back to it. I love the configurability and the fact that you can make it very minimalist. Fvwm also has a very UNIX-like feel to it; much more than any other wm.

Righ now, its the only wm on the box (aside from twm, of course). And I am am tweaking my config file.

    Or you could try fvwm!!!

If you read the fvwm list you probably already know about this: Some people created an fvwm wiki here. It's only been around for a week or so so content is still sparse but this good become a great resource for fvwm configuration examples once people start uploading stuff.
