Kablooooom!
Wow mount St. Helens is going off again. This time I am alive to see it, I dont know a great deal about the area there, but does anyone live near enough to it to be in danger? Or are the people being evacuated?

I have some family in Seattle. They are actually pretty close to Mt Rainier, which is pretty close to Mt. St Helens. Last I heard from them was that no one was too worried about it. Every specialist has said it will be a lackluster eruption, and judging from the photos it really was.

I was a baby when it blew up the first time. Portland (Oregon) is close enough that the city was covered in a fine layer of ash...I have vague memories of my dad trying to clean the yard. I'm another 110 miles south now, so unless it was a *really* big explosion I'm not sure if we'd see anything.
Supposedly if it does blow it'll be a much smaller explosion this time around...
