Knoppix to be included in upcoming book

Marcel Gagne's newest book, to be published in August, will include a copy of Knoppix! Finally, I can buy a book that has a great distro that I can pass around to my friends so that they can test-drive Linux. This is so cool. Congrats to the various Knoppix developers, testers, etc.

*The announcement and a link to a description of the book (at Amazon.com) can be found on Marcel's website.

    Cheers

I had a friend burn me a copy of knoppix the other day. Unfortunately, Ive been pulling 17/18 hour days since then and have not had a chance to play with it. Any good words?

Oh, ya! I have plenty of good words for it. It is my favorite distro (it is debian based). You can play with it from the CD or you can install it. If you use a floppy in conjunction with the cd, you can save your preferences from session to session. It doesn't mess up the installed OS, so you can let people borrow it in order to test out Linux without giving up the safety net of the preinstalled OS. Not to mention, it has a ton of software. Sweet, simply sweet (it's what I'm using currently).

    Cheers
