Running epiphany-cvs on a Mozilla 1.4 backend as we speak.
using it too, mozilla r0x0rz. can someone tell me the differences between netscape, mozilla, and firebird. I thought I read/heard that Netscape is basically the professional company release or something like that, mozilla is the open source release, and it seems firebird is the faster one.? if im wrong which i probably am someone corrrect me :P
i did a scan from http://bcheck.scanit.be/bcheck/
Internet Explorer 6.0 SP1 had I believe 5 vulnerabilities, 2 high risk, 3 middle
Mozilla 1.4 returned.............................0 ;D

Unfortunately, that just means it is not vulnerable to some known Internet Explorer bugs (notice how each window that pops up says something like "Checking for Internet Explorer bug so and so"I guess since IE is used more widely (as it is integrated and comes by default with the OS), most security scans focus on it. It doesn't mean Mozilla is invulnerable. Just that it is not vulnerable to some IE bugs. By the same token, if a test was made to exploit Mozilla vulnerabilities, it might be the case that IE would appear invulnerable.

Not to mention the fact that 1.4 is a recent release and IE6 has been out of awhile longer. So, it would seem kinda unfair to compare the two.
Cheers
hrm, that is a bit of a downer :-\ but as of right now that is a good thing because it doesn't have much exploitation out for it if any hehe
Ah but IE is patched on a regular basis using Windows Update. Mozilla really isn't, since the only alternative to running a stable release is CVS or nightly builds (which is scary to most people).
I think the test is close to being fair.
I wouldn't trust IE... it's produced by a company without etics.

Netscape is Mozilla with some extras, it comes with AIM and a few other things that aren't open source
Mozilla is the free/open one
Mozilla Firebird is just a browser, not a browser/mail client/kitchen sink. soon mozilla will have a browser application and a mail application and all, not just one program, and that will be based on firebird.
i use firebird ;D
