hello,
Can I just delete partition hd8, and then move 9 and 10, and then create a primary?
yes - although i don;t know how you made these partitions w/o a primary one that is extended - what does fdisk show the partitions as?
At the moment I have got this
hda5 /boot
hda6 /
hda7 /home
hda8 /other
hda9 /storage
hda10 swap
The other partition was intended for different linux distros, but I can't make wine work properly so am going to install windows for games. What I want when I finish is the same setup, but without /other. These are all logical partitions. Can I just delete partition hd8, and then move 9 and 10, and then create a primary, or do I need to delete everything and start again?
Cheers

Fdisk shows
/dev/hda1
/dev/hda5
/dev/hda6
/dev/hda7
/dev/hda8
/dev/hda9
/dev/hda10
with all there sizes etc. I just ran fdisk when I installed and created a bunch of logical partitions, and it seems to have created its on primary to hold them. So how do I move the partitions? I know I'll need to resize the primary partition, but doesn't that just involve deleting and recreating using the same starting sector but a different end one, after doing everything else
Cheers
