    Need Samba Guru please

Hi, I'm having a problem with perms on Samba. I have a dir called /share/ndx with:
    drwxrwxr-x 67 root ndx 4096 Feb 3 2000 absnotes
    drwxrwxr-x 2 root ndx 4096 Jun 18 15:43 eMail
    drwxrwxr-x 4 root ndx 4096 Mar 28 2001 Multiuser
Every time I edit a file it changes it to
    rwxr--r-- 1 michaelc michaelc 34816 Jun 18 15:43 NDX eMails

How can I make it so the perms, ownerships, and groups never get changed even if someone edits the file? I wan thinking of running a cron that changed all that stuff every hour but there has go to be a better way. I know I have seen it done in smb.conf. Thanks.

make sure the permissions of the above directory are correct then in your smb.conf insert the following line:
    create mask = 0765
(or whatever permissions & sitcky bit required) if you get stuck look in the examples that usually reside in the smb.conf file
