i have used linux and i have used solaris - i'll take linux.

maybe if i admined the solaris box it would be different - being a user with limited privledges is tougher, but they are not that fun.

btw - isn't Unix on a PC called BSD?

Yes, BSD is Unix though a lot of times the BSD entities themselves call iy Unix-like to keep lawyers at bay. I agree, I have admined both and like Linux better. People like Linux cause it's open, costs less, and is Unix-like in nature.

Right! I use Linux because of the great penguin mascot! Sun is way off on why people use Linux. Sheeesh, without Tux Linux would simply be BSD with a funny name. ;D
