    Ximian Desktop 2

I finally managed to get Ximian Desktop 2 to install on my SUSE 8.2 system. I was just wondering what everyone else thought about it? I hated how it wanted to replace my kdm with gdm, and after that i was unable to boot kde because gdm didn't have an entry for it. Also, I hated how it ignored 99% of the programs that were on my system, but then again, I suppose it is perfect for an office environment. Clean and useable.

beezlebubsbum, to get kde back in there with GDM, just plop a copy of /usr/bin/startkde in /etc/gdm/Sessions (or put a symlink there, now that I think of it...)

I use GDM as my login manager + KDE as my window manager. Which is another way of saying GDM is the libranet default and I've never seen any reason to fuss with it...anyhoo, they aren't incompatible.

GDM looks a lot better then most KDM's. I think that the Ximian version of GDM looks absolutely great. I have ditched SUSE 8.2 and Ximian 2 for Knoppix 3.4 HDD install. I just can't go without APT-GET
