mpeg to animated gif

I googled but, couldn't find any application that would convert an mpeg movie to animated gif. Can anyone point me to one?

You know what makes animated gifs? GIFS :-D If you can get yourself a program that can take each frame out, IE photoshop like (Gimp probably does it) then you have a folder with a few hundred gifs, and then you animate it with gifsickle or such
