    Unable to change resolution

I am unable to change the resolution in any game that I have installed on Linux. ut2003, Quake3, RTCW. This seems to be very strange, and frustrating. all of the games are stuck in what appears to be 800x600.
    I am running SuSE 8.2 with a GeForce 3 video card 512MB ram,Athlon XP1700.
I can change the resolution on the desktop.
I don't know if this has anything to do with it or not but my monitor is shown as being a KDS AV-195T. My monitor is actually a KDS AV195TF. I don't know why it shows up like that but that is a different monitor. Unless they both use the same drivers.
I hope there is a solution to this.

    Re:Unable to change resolution

you may be able to do it by editing the res line in the game config file.
try ~/.game/someconfigfile.ini and take a look
