Getting sick looking at the screen.

For some reason i start to get sick to my stomach when working in xwindows. Does that have somethign to do with the refresh rate or something?

    Please help.
    Thanks

likely. like fluorescent lights some people are very sensitive to monitor flicker. (i am one that is very bothered by it , oddly fluorescent lights don't.) the solution is to get a monitor that allows a very high refresh rate, ideally an lcd. i am sitting infront of my mac powerbook right now and it is pure joy because of the lcd monitor. i have a great 19" monitor as well that is capable of doing a very high refresh rate and since i changed to it my headaches and sore eyes have all but diappeared. occasionally i have to turn on my old 15" monitor and it does not take long before it feels like my eyes are shaking.

this is my experience anyway ymmv.

I'd agree with that. Set the refresh rate as high as you can. It makes it much easier on your eyes

Have you got the exact specs of the monitor? There are 2 lines, HorizSync and VertRefresh. There should be something somewhere on the net that tells you the range your screen can handle, edit those 2 lines and then restart x. Hopefully that will help you
