Hey Linux World Expo is in august and I am going to be in SFO for the expo the August 5th and 6th. Maybe we can have a little get together. I know Compunuts lives in the bay area. Not sure if he's going to be there or not. Maybe we can all go out for lunch or dinner or just hang out together.

If you shell out for the plane ticket I would LOVE to be there...

I should start going to some Linux expos. I have my interview for ATA at the aiport tomorrow, if I get hired I fly anywhere in the USA for free. ;D

What will you be doing for ATA? I've flown on them too many times to remember (they contract flights for the military).

Yeap... I live in Sunnyvale, the home of Yahoo and AMD. I know a couple of people on here also live at North Bay.

Not sure if he's going to be there or not.

I will be a ramp agent, throw luggage on the planes and if I work there long enough and train, maybe even push them back/taxi them to takeoff.

I will be making $9 or so an hour when I start. And then I get like $10 or so next year. Overtime is Time and a half so I will earn like $14 and if I work holidays it is double time and a half which is like $20-$25 an hour. Probably working fulltime 40hrs a week.

Sweet! You should look into Airline Flight Dispatch. They might be willing to send you to the school once you have been with them long enough.

~915 bucks for planetickets alone - departure 4th of augest, back home on the 10th.
