    updating the kernel with Up2Date

    Hi,

I was wondering if it is 'safe' to update the kernel via Up2Date.

if I update via rpm/src.rpm will it automatically install the needed modules and not install the un-needed ones? Will it configure the kernel just like the one on the system?

I suppose it's a good idea to make a boot floppy just before.

    thanx,

You can grab the Kernel with Up2Date. I have been using it since RH8 I think might have been before. It will basically take the last config file and use it to configure.

    Hope this helps.
