Unreal Tournament won't save

I'm using the totally unreal pack which comes with GOTY version, I had lot of problems getting the game to work at all, its just now it won't save. I know on windows it does this automaticaly, but as for Linux I'm a newbie so is there something I have to do to get it to save.
