remap control key

How would I go about making my caps-lock key become my control key?

hey cga - i just disable mine xmodmap -e "remove Lock = Caps_Lock" in my .xinitrc - have a looky here about 2/3 way down for remapping

I just discovered that SuSE has a ~/.Xmodmap file with this in it already- all one has to do is uncomment the appropriet section.
