odd... I had no problem with proftpd. Nor vsftp. It just worked. Then again, I was telling the individual how to ftp, so user error was not part of the equation this time...
I setup a wu-ftp server on my home box over dialup (I know dialup :). It seems to work from linux clients no problem, but seems to refuse windows clients. Is this normal or am I missing something in the setup?

yah it was very odd. I couldnt even log in over my network to do an ftp install. WU-ftp seems like its fairly simple to config, but I cant seem to figure out where the problem could be. As soon as I get my other system running, I will try setting it up from there and see what happens.
