I just got a Sony DRU500AX dvd+Rw writer.

I see media that is dvd-ram and dvd-rom.

what's the difference?
What's with the 2 standards +/-

The DVD recording market is all fuckered up. We have more standards that needed. And as far as I know, none are really technically superior to another. Just 3 major companies are pushing their technique. Rule of thumb -- double check what you are buying works with your burner.
