i run the program apm i know there is an applet that works on my ibm laptop. this is forredhat 8 - are you using kde or gnome?

Battery Charge Monitor v 2.2.0 dose not regiser the fact I have a battery present (two infact) on my Dell laptop running redhat 9. dose anyone use this program. Is there a way for it to see my batterys?
Also is there any other programs for power managment? I was working away the other day with out the pawer line conected and my computer went down with out warning -not good.

Im using gnome. all apm dose for me is tell me if ac is conected or not :-\
hummsss. -that is strange. 1st check out http://www.linux-laptop.net/ and see if there are any hints there. when i type apm i get charge remaining and state - i.e. AC or battery.
