    new hardware

Just installed Slackware 8.1 for a look but in the install i chose to ignore setting up the network because i didn't have a NIC in ant that time. I now put in the NIC but dont know how to detect it, or configure it?

I cant seem to find the ifcfg-ethX files
    doesnt have kudzu either :-P

    Thanks

you may also have to tell it to load the correct module for the card, im not sure if netconfig does that for you too

    Re:new hardware

Edit /etc/rc.d/rc.modules to load the proper module. Then edit rc.inet1 to use DHCP or not.
