The Blackdown version worked for me too.
I just installed Slack 9.0, got the blackdown.org JDK compiled with GCC 3.2.x and all is well with my system, using the Slack supplied Mozilla.
The Blackdown version worked for me too.
OK, I was wrong. The Sun one works ok for Netscape. It just doesn't do anything for Mozilla it seems...
Also, make sure that the ..../java/bin directory is in your path, and you set the JAVA_HOME variable to point to .../java
just further evidence that java is a pile of hooie. i wish it would go away.

Well the Blackdown one works for Mozilla for me, and neither work for Netscape![]()
Right. This is all due to how the Mozilla in Slack 9.0 was compiled (wtih GCC 3.2.?). So plugins that Mozilla uses have to be compiled with the same version of GCC - or at least not with the 2.95.?? versions.
I think I'll go write up a quick PET on how to do Java with Mozilla.
