More of a 'new-rock' guy, eh? I saw punk in there, toughn' up boy :P
Most of the stuff I listen to are half-way underground and mainly punk/metal/emo/mathrock/spacerock stuff. I'd be supprised if you never heard of Bad Religion, TSOL or Johnny Cash.Where do you guys find these bands? Never heard (almost) any of them ...

Here is info on each genre ...
Emo - http://www.fourfa.com/
Math Rock - http://www.rundevilrun.com/mathrock.html Sample Mp3s
Space Rock - "Driven by guitars and vintage keyboards and emphasizing sonic properties over melody, Space Rock is a genre of music from the 1970s (Can, Neu) which continues well into the 21st century" Overlaps with 'Progrock' Drunken Gunnmen Sample Mp3 King Black Acid Sample Mp3Quarkspace Sample Mp3
Lately I've gone for a more funk/hiphop style. For a good time with this genre, check out http://www.pocketdwellers.com/ and for some really good lyrical stylings, check out http://www.warsawpack.com/ . FREE MP3s AT BOTH SITES . These bands want exposure more than anything, so you can help them out by at least testing their music. The former is a little more fun, the latter is probably more political than Rage Against the Machine (and I can definitely see some Rage influence there).
When it's not those two, I generally have punk going on the ol' speakers. NOFX and Goldfinger are two favs. I also love Weezer and System of a Down.
