    At the command line:

    Type mail

Type whatever message number(s) are listed and read the messages (they come with the distro ) .

I think an exit command will get you out of the mail proggy after you're done  . You did mention that you'd done some re-installing lately, right?

    mail

snct, Well, I read my mail, it was mostly cron stuff and I don't know why. Just some Linux house keeping?

Thanx for "mail" I found that I had mail because I was trying different commands. I'll bet "mail" is on the next page.

    I am training for an install-fest. I am up to 6 installs/day

Fatal Error, THAT would be a kickass olympic event. Something like:

"The American contender, Fatal Error, goes for his *seventh* stock Debian install on brand-new hardware! Bob, he's got to get X running with Alsa sound after only one kernel compile. That's not easy."

"No it isn't Ted. At least he's got apt-get to help him out; I wouldn't want to do that compiling from source..."

I am good for the Olimpics, the quintessential amateur. In the Linux event at least.

It did, but I don't remember how it happened (maybe, just maybe when I opened a term and did SU it popped up) Look, its smarter than you and it will tell you what it wants. Don't turn your back!!!!
