winISO seems to do ok, but I dont remember where to get it..its even got a pretty gui to play with![]()
RC 1 is out for Slack 9.0.
Some of the main components included are the 2.4.20 Linux kernel, KDE 3.1, GNOME 2.2, and XFree86 4.3.0, as well as gcc-3.2.2 and the latest development libraries.
It shouldn't be long for the official release! 8)
They also mention how to create an iso file from the current directory using Linux mkisofs and it mention how to do it from within Windows OS but the file is missing from the link.
Here is the current Readme file link.

Is there any other way to create an iso from Windows? I would like to create from work using the T1 line!
Thnx.

Wicked...I might just throw that on when it's released.
And yeah WinISO's the best way to go for that kind of thing.
Dang thats a wee bit annoying, I downloaded the current tree about 3 days ago, now I'm going to have to go through and work out what needs updating and download those.

i'm installing this on the box for LittleMissGorn. After 9.0 final comes out she can learn how to upgrade. i wanna get this box to her soon, but slack 8.1 was dated and i wanted more current stuff. so this is perfected timing.
Now i just gotta make sure i can fit this on my 900MB hd still. But it's slack so i'm sure i can. *growls at redhat*

Yeah last I tried Mandy it was at 7.2. Maybe I'll check it out.
Does it still treat you like a kid? I was never fond of that.
mandrake 7.2 was my favorite i couldnt wait for 8.0, then i tried it and it was incredibly slow and buggy, same for 8.1. so during the 8.x series i said goodbye to mandrake and hello to slack. i might try mandy 9.1 but slackware will always be on top for me. im going to try debian and gentoo when i get my old 1.3ghz box up, also will try 9.1 on it, its my testing box.![]()
