KVIrc 3.0.0 beta 1 segfault

Recompiled KVirc source from various gentoo portage trees, tried in KDE 3.0.5 and now 3.1 and I consistantly get segfaults. This is with a normal emerge.

well looks like it is not playing well with xft1 libraries. could it be that youy have the new x installed and it does not jibe well with it?

i would look further into the ebuilds and see what can be done there to make is swim with the rest of the school. sorry i can't help more but just so hate kde so i never run it.

I'm using Xfree86 4.2.1, and until I unmerged it kvirc worked fine. I wonder if some other files might have gotten corrupted since after reinstalling KDE everything worked fine again.

its possible have you consulted with the gentoo people at all?

is possible that somehow it depends on kvirc or some of it's depends?

actually looking again there are glibc errors too i wonder if glibic might not have some problems of some sort

I did try the Gentoo boards, left my post up for a week which got a lot of views but no replies. Everything that KVirc depends on is installed, so it leads back to file corruption somewhere.
