My old unit it over there (AIRBORNE!!), and I support THEM, I dont support the reason that they are there....this is old business that should have been taken care of a decade ago. Be built Hussien just like we built Noreaga, now we gotta go take him out.....this is mess.
Really? You were part of the 101st Airborne?
    Sweeeett......
That'd make my day to jump out of a plane. I have a plane (1962 Comanche 250) but I can't jump out of it.
101 isn't Airborne anymore they're air assault. A few buddies of mine went there after AA training at Fort Drum however last I saw they still have the Airborne patch.

I think the world would have been better serves using political assassinations. Fewer questions would have been asked if Saddam had just disappeared. Figure whoever did it could have pointed fingers at Iraqi rebels or something. Stupid conservatives for castrating the CIA. >

That video was funny. My jujutsu instructor was going off on people like that Tuesday. I hate brainless hippies. They're as bad as blood-thirsty Iraqi dictators.

    Re:Iraq

rick420 you scare me and illustrate why so many people are opposed to this war and may "hate" americans.

people across the world are opposed to this war not because they think saddam is a good person/ruler but because they don't think any one country should be dictating to the world how things should be done. once the US chose to seek a diplomatic solution they became bound by that commitment.

but now they have chosen to take their own route to "justice" and by chosing such a route they have basically said that the UN and the world does not have any bearing in the decisions they make. which in itself is not incorrect as long as the actions they take are contained within their borders. in this case though they have snubbed the un and many many nations and thrown any international laws out the window. this has set a dangerous precident and now no country can be stopped from taking actions against another country as long as they deem they are justified.

this means that no one can tell north korea not to develope nuclear weapons. syria is free to do what they wish where they wish. essentially terrorism does not existed anymore. all actions taken by one country on behalf of their citizens is legal and binding.

the US has opened the door for anarchy.

further now because of my country's refusal to fight we can be invaded by the amercans because, according to statements by bush around the time of 9/11 "if you are not with us you are against us". which simply means you have no free will and must bow before the power of the US.

since 9/11 i have seen a once great nation abandon all that made it great. people in and outside the US can no longer oppose anything the president and his believers say. one speaking out against the war in the us now faces dire consequnces. just take a look at what has happened to the dixie chicks. their lead singer spoke out against bush and now people in the mid west are "burning" their cds.

lovechild opposes the war and for all i have heard for the same reasons i do..not because he likes hussien but the idea of a western nation stepping into the fire in the mideast and dictating how they should run their countries (since this will not stop just with iraq)...and all you do is insult and condemn him.

the loss of free speech in and outside the us is a sad sad thing. unlike the end of world war II the end of this crusade by the us and britian will see very few living souls to rule over.

i am not saying that saddam is a good guy just that the manner in which he is being "taken out" is bad for all. i don't feel safe anymore because of the way the us has acted.

and then, do you even think anyone could beat the United States military without using nuclear war? I dont think there is a way the US can be beat without WMD's
Vietnam.

Their army was barely a shadow of what the American military was, and yet they wiped the floor with the USA, to the point where troops were pulled back.
Actually, to make a slight correction, the USA did not get the floor wiped by the NVA or the Viet Cong. Quite the contrary. Had we been able to prosecute the war according to proven war-fighting technigues (such as attacking N. Vietnam directly, Linebacker 1/2, etc), it would have ended within a year or two of full-force being applied. We were wiping out the NVA division one after the other. We had hurt the Viet Cong after the 1968 Tet Offense so badly that they didn't present a viable military threat from around early 1969 on.

If it hadn't been for the civilian personnel getting involved directly with the prosecution of the war, we would have reunited Vietnam.

    Cheers

We here in the midwest dont burn her music because of her opinions, we burn her music because she is terrible and unbearable to listen to.

    This argument holds little water.
Now it looks like you are speaking out against free speech since the people that were burning their cds were just protesting and exercising their right to free speech. Which is exactly what people opposed to the war are doing, protesting.
I am sure if a celebrity spoke out for the war they would also be subject to boycotts from different groups.
