Hello Everyone!
I just got my April edition of LJ. There is an article that talks about
setting up KDE for desktop sharing. Sort of like, PC Anywhere.
Has anyone tried this?
I downloaded, compiled and installed the
software(www.tjansen.de/krfb)and when I attempt to run the software I
get an error: "There was an error loading the module" Under "Details:",
This diagnostic is blank and the "Possible reasons:" An error occurred
during your last KDE upgrade leaving an orphaned control module.
and.... "You have old third party modules lying around".
I'm using RH 7.3 and KDE 3.0.3-8. and RH8.0.
Has anyone tried this?
Thanks.
Gary

No, this is more of a case where I can "take over" controls of a user's desktop for administration purposes. Same as PC Anywhere for Windoze.
In this case, the user's desktop is actually displayed within a window on my desktop. Then, I will be able to do anything that was needed.
I believe this was released with KDE 3.1. Correct me if I'm wrong?
No, you're correct. It's packaged in with 3.1.
Are you saying bite the bullet and upgrade?
I dunno, it just came out. Sort of... the bleeding edge. So, I tried the install. I know that 3.0.... is stable. 3.1 isn't even dry yet!
