HELP!!! can't boot: inode x has image flag set

    Hi,

I came in this morning and my machine wouldn't boot.

it tries to check errors on the files system automatically. but then comes up with

inode 274849 has image flag set

then advises to run fsck manually.

I don't know jack about fsck. It asks for my root password which I put in but I don't really know what to do there.

can anyone please respond with help. ASAP

    running RH7.2 with ext3

    thanx,

    hello,
when it asks you to login as root and drops you to a shell run fsck.ext3 /dev/hdX where hdX would be the partion in question, e.g. hdb3.
