No, I went to install Xft 1 a while back, a program had a beef with needing that rpm. Thats the one thing I hate about the rpm-db, it doesnt know if a file is good enuf, just that the rpm aint installed.
Something is weird here.
you currently have Xft2...what sarah's saying and I might agree is that iDesk is looking for xft1...the older version. Although before we go jumping to conclusions, I had xft2 on my box and I compiled iDesk a few days ago.

Man this is crazy. I'm following you like a shadow Schotty, and of course getting the exact errors to the "T". This is crazy! Of course knowing the two of us, we'll work on this until it works. :P
I'm going to try to find someway to build a GOOD RPM. :P
To make a long story short, I wanted to go BSD and wiped RH off. FreeBSD was a curse in the making. After spending an entire day at my buddy's on cable getting nowhere (in the end nothing worked right. fuck ports. its all fucked anyhow). I now am running SuSE 8. I am not sure I like it, but since its all I had on hand ....
Oh well, perhaps after I get KDE pretty and find a way to upgrade GNOME to a more recent revision I will retry this again. I want it on my box ....
Or I can just wait 2-3 weeks for 8.1 to come out. I can't put the fedora in the closet for long ;D
