Yeah, I read that article too (I have a subscription because it seemed like a good idea a year ago.) Anybody know if there's a website that collects the funny kernel comments? I'm too lazy to google it at the moment. 8)
Speaking of Wired, I saw an interesting article in there a couple of months ago. I think it was the Pixar issue, where somebody made graph of the increasing amount of swearing in the kernel comments. Some of the comments are actually really funny, you can just see the frustration of the programmers in them. I am still looking for one that would make a great sig line.

I heard that the SCO really just signed its downfall by attacking linux.

Well....SCO was in a major downward spiral to begin with. No one bought its product line and it was basically making a living (albeit one in which it lost money every quarter) by licensing out its rights to the original Unix code. The attack on Linux was and is 100% a scheme to raise its stock prices so that its investors and management can cash in. I don't have any links to the articles, but it's been a kind of dark comedy watching as its management team has sold off their stock over the last two years or so, making *huge* profits in the process. They don't really think they can win, but they _know_ that they can get rich in the interim.
Why the hell would you sue IBM? That's crazy!!! Even Microsoft doesn't have the resources that IBM has at its disposal. I read an interview with the Redhat CEO about the issue. He seems to think that SCO's claim was just plain funny! He even said that SCO has 11million in reserve and that Redhat dwarfs it at 400million!!! :w00t:

There is just somthing unsettling about the whole SCO bit. They seem way too damn confidant for it to be as cut and dry as we think, Somthing tells me there will be more comming out withen the next several months, but I hope I am wrong.
