sound card driver/ mldonkey question

I finally gave in and bought a copy of SuSe 8.1 at compusa today. Finally, everything works! After trying RedHat 8 and Mandrake 9, which I could never seem to configure properly, I now have almost everything set up (even got nVidia drivers with Yast) and can even access windows folders! (sorry, just happy)
The only thing I worry about is my soundcard. I have a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz with a 4 speaker setup from Logitech. I remember someone telling me that the soundcard did not work with 4 speakers in linux...that was during the summer, so I am hoping some one could help me out with this :
Also, I was looking to download mldonkey from here http://savannah.nongnu.org/download/.../release-2.02/ but got confused as to which version I should get.

hello,
i this either of the above file would be best - both for a P4, the static one is larger and should not need any shared libs. the shared would need some other files installed, im not sure which ones.

Static binaries include, built in, all of the required libraries. Dynamics require the required libs are present on the system. Generally I get the dynamics, and just find the libs if needed.
