Digital Sound Card Volume Control

I have a SoundBlaster Live MP3 digital soundcard installed on my Mandy box. I can only control the volume using the external hardware volume controller. Is there any way to control the volume (and bass, treble, etc.) with Kmixer or other software sound controllers?

aumix adjusting the pcm level is what i do, it is a sb live value and uses the emu10k1

Nope, that doesn't work for me either. I'm outputting to digital speakers. Maybe that has something to do with it?

I was able to control volume level with a couple of the WAV volume controls on the ALSA mixer. I'm using ALSA, not the native driver for SB Live.
