    Internet on Linux

    I got regular South Western Bell or SBC and what not DSL Not yahoo sbc dsl, but just plain, never upgraded, I can't seem to get a connection through my linux os, how do I go about doing this?

    hello,
    i think they use pppoe - i saw in you your other post your network card is not set up - try going to system tools -> internet configuration and choose xdsl conneciton and then hit forward, it should work okay

    What sort of modem are you using? I had to up grade to an externel ( non USB ) modem. Also have you tried Roaring Penguin ( PPPoE client ) you will need to set some values such as your username password and DNS by running "adsl-setup" after you got that all setup run the command "adsl-start" and you should be all ready to go.
